The shape and color of your eyebrows play a central role in facial aesthetics and symmetry. Microblading Q & A

What is microblading?

Microblading is a cosmetic treatment that improves the look and shape of your eyebrows. During microblading, your trained and skilled technician at OSPA SKIN & BODY uses a special tool to draw pigmented lines throughout your eyebrows. The pigmented lines create color and texture and improve the look of your eyebrows.

Though categorized as a type of permanent makeup, microblading isn’t the same as eyebrow tattooing. Your microblading treatment isn’t permanent and lasts 12-18 months.

What can I expect during microblading?

The specifics of your microblading session depend on your beauty goals and needs. Your technician at OSPA SKIN & BODY reviews your treatment plan during your consultation so you know what to expect. The entire procedure may take up to three hours.

First, your technician uses an eyebrow pencil to outline your eyebrows and determine placement of the pigment. They then use the microblade tool to cut into your skin and place the pigment.

After your microblading session, you may notice some redness and it may appear as though your eyebrows are darker than expected. These side effects should disappear during the healing process, which takes 7-14 days.

How do I care for my eyebrows after microblading?

OSPA SKIN & BODY provides detailed guidelines on how to take care of your eyebrows after microblading. Care for your eyebrows is similar to care following a tattoo.

Your post-microblading care plan may include:

  • Keeping your eyebrows dry for up to 10 days
  • Not wearing eyebrow makeup for up to a week
  • Not picking at scabs
  • Avoiding saunas and activities that cause excessive sweating

Your technician also provides a medicated cream for you to apply to your eyebrows to prevent infection and promote healing.

How do I maintain my new look?

OSPA SKIN & BODY recommends you follow good skin care practices to maintain your new look. This includes applying sunblock to your eyebrows to prevent the pigmentation from fading.

Your technician may also recommend annual touch-up treatments to maintain your look.
